1 Parties and service
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of siveralaw.com (the "Site") on registering and using an account on the Site. The Site is operated independently by an individual. It is a legal technology tool offering preliminary screening, research and self-assessment records in export controls and sanctions, outbound data transfer, trademarks and the classification of goods and services. The Site is currently free of charge.
By completing registration you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy and the Legal Notices.
2 Your account
- You register and sign in with a code sent to your email. Use an email address you are entitled to use and keep it secure; any sign-in completed with a code sent to your email is treated as your own action.
- Your account is for your use only. Do not lend, transfer or share it.
- You can delete your account at any time on the account page. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
3 Rules of use
When using the Site you must not:
- collect the Site's content or data in bulk by automated means such as crawlers or scripts;
- attempt to bypass sign-in, access restrictions or security measures, or interfere with the Site's operation;
- abuse the sign-in code function or register with someone else's email address;
- sell or redistribute the Site's content as a standalone product;
- use the Site for any activity that breaks the law.
If you breach these rules, the operator may suspend or close your account.
4 Nature of the content
- The content of the Site is general information about the regulatory areas concerned. It is not legal advice and does not address any specific matter. Using the Site does not create an agency relationship.
- The Site's data is compiled from publicly available sources and is being expanded progressively; it may contain omissions, delays or errors. For legislation, lists and classifications, the official texts published by the issuing authorities prevail.
- Preliminary results depend on the facts you enter and must be reviewed by a suitably qualified professional before you act on them.
- See the Legal Notices for the nature and limits of the results and the sources of the data.
5 Intellectual property
Laws, regulations and normative documents cited on the Site are public texts. Copyright in the Site's organisation of the rules, assessment structure, interface and text belongs to the operator. What you enter in the tools belongs to you and is stored in your own browser.
6 Changes to and suspension of the service
The operator may adjust, upgrade, suspend or discontinue any or all features of the Site as needed. If paid features are introduced in future, their content and prices will be announced in advance and you may decide whether to use them; existing free features will not become paid by default.
7 Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Site. You should make your own judgement on transaction and compliance decisions or obtain professional advice from someone qualified in the relevant jurisdiction.
8 Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (for the purpose of these terms, excluding the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan). Any dispute arising from these terms shall first be resolved through negotiation; failing that, it shall be brought before a people's court with jurisdiction in accordance with the law.
9 Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the Site's features change. Updates are published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top. Material changes to your rights and obligations will be brought to your attention the next time you sign in.
